Intercultural Programs for
High School Students
Study Abroad in Spain

INFORMATION FOR PARENTS

Studying abroad is a defining period in your son and daughter’s educational experience. This journey prepares your student to become a global thinker with international perspectives. Students may select to
live with carefully screened home-stay families or live in supervised residence halls with access to on-sitedirectors 24 hours a day.
“During this experience, students gain responsibility, independence, self-confidence, as well as increase their fluency in the Spanish language. This was a once in a lifetime experience and I am so incredibly thankful that I could be a part of it. Travelling abroad with my school was unlike any other trip that I have ever taken previously; it was definitely one of the best experiences of my life. If given the opportunity, I strongly encourage anyone who has the desire to learn more about the language and culture to go on this trip. I feel that this trip helped me gain more confidence with the language, helped me become more independent, and opened my eyes to another wonderful culture. I would love to be able to go back and immerse myself in the language and culture again. After this experience, I am seriously considering doing a study abroad program in Spain.” Nora F., Troy, Michigan.
Indeed, a study abroad program opens doors to future career opportunities. Your son or daughter will be ahead of their peers in this fast and often competitive international business world. In fact, many employers now look for experience abroad as a requirement when considering applicants. Increasing fluency in a foreign language along with an abroad experience on their resume, gives them the competitive edge needed
in today’s global business community.
